It was in 1965 that my
interest in performance cars began to blossom. An auto transporter was delivering vehicles to Clippinger Chevrolet in Covina, California and the driver let me park a brand new 1965 Corvette Coupe that included a 396 cubic inch motor with side exhaust. That was it, I was hooked. From that moment forward, speed and performance vehicles became a passion for me. Hood Motorsports was created to pursue that interest.
Over the years such great cars as a 1955 Chevy, 1957 Chevy, 1991 Corvette, and 1995 ZR1 Corvette were passed on because of the lack of a facility to house them. Moving forward, Hood Motorsports will allow for complete integration of automotive activities to co-exist with the collection of our favorite vehicles.

In 1990 my interest in modifying
engines to make them sound meaner, and drive faster began. We were in Florence, Oregon at an event called Sandfest when two quads rode by emitting the smell of alcohol and the sound of uncorked exhausts; this was my first exposure to the greater potential a machine can gain through aftermarket modifications. It was then I began to explore the world of the aftermarket and what it could do to turn a stock machine into something else?something far superior.
As I became old enough to drive, my enthusiasm for modifying increased and my 1996 Camaro was no exception. It underwent a dramatic transformation and as it changed; my interest and knowledge in automobiles grew exponentially. Ultimately, confined by limited storage space, the Camaro was sold, but my passion for the automotive industry had been ignited and as I moved to my next project, discussions surrounding Hood Motorsports began.
